If you’re anything like me, you probably grew up making (and eating) these chocolate coconut balls.
This is a great recipe for getting the kids to help out in the kitchen, my kids love making these delicious chocolate coconut balls here, make sure the kids are involved by rolling the mixture into heaped tablespoon sized balls. It’s always fun, one of the best things about making these chocolate and coconut balls is the rolling of the balls in coconut.
I spend about 20 minutes in total on this wonderful dessert here. And get about 24 medium size chocolate and coconut balls.
- 400 grams / 14.1 oz biscuits (I use maria biscuits)
- 4 deciliter / 1.4 cup lukewarm milk
- 4 tablespoons of cocoa powder
- 3 tablespoons of sugare
- 250 grams / 8.8 oz of coconut
- 400 grams / 14.0 oz of dark cooking chocolate
- Extra coconut for rolling
Here’s what you do:
Place the biscuits in a plastic bag and crush the biscuits until the biscuits resemble fine crumbs.
Add the cocoa powder, coconut, milk, sugare, melt the coke chocolate and add it to the bowl as well.
Mix well by hand until all the contents are mixed well.
Roll heaped tablespoon of the mixture into balls.
Roll in the extra coconut to coat.
Place the chocolate and coconut balls in a sheet pan with baking paper, I usually put them in the fridge to keep it fresh for several days, but take them out a bit before serving.
